Mead
Made by naturally fermenting the honey from the bees of the traditional cider orchards in Somerset, Mead is perhaps one of the oldest of the naturally fermented drinks around. Drunk pretty much like this through hundreds of years, Mead is often cited as the "nectar of the Gods" as a unique drink. Honey is a hugely sugar rich starting point, and natural fermentation just as with wine and cider turns a lot of this to alcohol, producing a sumptuous deep, rich honey wine.
Great with strong cheeses, red meats - like you would drink a big bold red wine.
